This policy explains how Online Blackjack NZ prepares information, checks sources and deals with corrections. Shayne Currie is the editorial contact for onlineblackjacknz.com.

Keep the rules attached to the advice

Blackjack explanations need a defined game. When a decision, strategy chart or calculation depends on table conditions, the relevant conditions should appear beside it. These can include deck count, whether the dealer hits soft 17, blackjack payout, double and split restrictions, surrender and how the dealer checks for blackjack.

We should not apply a result for one ruleset to another without explaining the difference. A choice for a hard total is not automatically the choice for a soft hand, and a basic-strategy recommendation is not a guarantee that the hand will win.

Use the source that establishes the detail

For a game’s operation, we look to its rule sheet, help file and provider documentation. For a promotion, the relevant evidence is the published offer and complete conditions. Payment features should be checked against the payment provider and, where a specific operator is discussed, that operator’s cashier information.

Regulatory statements need current official material, such as the Department of Internal Affairs’ customer information. A service’s advertising copy is not evidence of its regulatory status. Another comparison page or a search snippet may help locate an original source, but should not replace it.

Separate documentation from firsthand testing

Reading a game’s help file establishes what that document says. It does not establish that a member of our team deposited money, completed account verification or made a withdrawal. Any claim about firsthand testing must describe the activity actually carried out and the limits of the observation.

Where available information does not resolve a material question, we should identify the uncertainty. We do not fill a missing payout rule, fee, processing time or bonus condition with a figure that merely looks plausible.

Show the basis of examples and calculations

Worked examples should identify their inputs and assumptions. A blackjack payout calculation should distinguish the stake returned from the profit earned. A wagering calculation should state whether the multiplier applies to the bonus, deposit or both, and whether blackjack contributes to qualifying turnover.

Numerical results should be checked for units, rounding and consistency with the stated rules. A theoretical long-run figure describes a model, not the result a reader should expect from a short session. Examples must not be presented as genuine player outcomes.

Explain commercial influence

Affiliate arrangements can affect inclusion, placement and the presentation of commercial listings. Our affiliate disclosure explains this relationship. A commercial arrangement does not establish a claim about a game’s fairness, account eligibility or payment performance.

Comparative wording should have a clear basis. If a page calls a condition lower, faster or more favourable, it should explain what is being compared and any material limitations. Coverage is selective rather than a complete register of every available service.

Corrections and update dates

Send a correction to [email protected]. Include the page address, the disputed wording and a supporting original source where available. A material correction should be reflected in related examples and page data as well as the affected sentence.

The updated date identifies the page’s saved revision. It does not mean every linked service was retested that day. We do not use a date change alone to imply fresh research. The contact page explains how to report an issue without sending private account documents.
